Since July 2021 there has been a growing
deficit between demand and supply of home care as demand has risen
and the market has faced increasing difficulty recruiting and
retaining staff. This is contributing to delayed discharges from
hospital. The NHS has funding available to address winter pressures
and intends to fund a range of services. The NHS wishes to make a
contribution of £2.5m to support home care by funding staff
retention schemes. The Council will pass this on to contracted
providers.
(Exemption paragraph 3)
Reasons for the Decision – To considerproposals for the use of the NHS funding available to address winter pressures by supporting home care.
